26 states, John Carona has a perspective
that is uncommon in the state legislature.
"Most people in the Texas State
Legislature are not business people,"
he observes.
However, in Austin, creating a balanced
and healthy economic environment
often falls prey to partisanship.
"You don't abandon your principles,
your principles are always the foundation
upon which you negotiate,"
the senator reinforces. "But
at the end of the day, the public
expects action, not inaction from
its elected officials."

Texas must balance the interests
of businesses,
employees and consumers.
